Maui Hawaii Art
Maui-based artist Andy Behrle has been selected to create new artworks for the Hawaiian Flag and Quilt exhibition at the Hawaii Museum of Art at the Honolulu Art Museum (HoMA) in Honolulu, Hawaii. Hawaiian flag and quilt and plans to collect more material for his project. BehRle will draw on recordings he has collected from the museum's collection as well as from his own collection. He imagines the Hawaiian Flag & Quilts in the HoMa collection as he imagines it, using a combination of old and new materials such as photos, videos, photographs and video footage.

The 2020 exhibition list "squeezes the purse strings," museum officials said, as the HoMA Artists in Hawaii exhibition reinforces the museum's commitment to showcasing talented Hawaiian artists through a contemporary lens. This year's judges are a mix of local artists from Maui, Kauai, Oahu and the Big Island of Hawaii. While the past jurors have mostly come from O Honolulu and the Hawaiian Islands, this is the first year of jury selection for the annual Honolulu Museum of Art exhibition. The themes that are expressed in the artworks bring to the fore current and controversial issues that the people of Hawaii face and will touch the rest of the world, museum officials said.
He was born in Rhode Island, grew up in Southern California, studied at the Art Center of Los Angeles and moved to Hawaii in the 1980s, where he continued to create his own artworks, most recently in his solo exhibition at HoMA. Elan has sold more than 5,000 original paintings to collectors around the world, making it one of the most successful artists in Hawaiian art history. Over the past 38 years, he has painted many of Hawaii's most sought-after artworks, after the iconic "Maui" and "Kauai" paintings.

The Wooden Wave artist's Hawaiian treehouse is on the lower wall of the main shopping mall. One of Alan's first projects after moving to Maui was the creation of a life-size whale sculpture donated to Maui Ecology Park, also known as Kalama Park, on South Kihei Road in KiHEI, Hawaii. Painted by artist and former member of the Hawaiian Art Council, Kirk Kamehameha, this panel shows stonemasons and children climbing boulders in the Iao Valley.
In recent years, more than 500 entries have been submitted by an average of 300 artists, and about 100 are usually selected by jurors who do not live in Maui. Today, it is one of the most prestigious art exhibitions in the state of Hawaii, if not the nation.

The previous venue was the Hawaiian Art Museum in Waikiki, Hawaii's oldest art museum and museum, and features a collection of more than 1,000 artworks by artists from around the world.
